Under the Fig Tree

The name Underfig comes from a moment in the Gospel of John.

Before Jesus met Nathanael, He told him, "I saw you under the fig tree." In those few words, Nathanael realized he was known before he spoke and seen before he had done anything to earn it.

That story became the foundation of this brand.

To us, the fig tree represents a place where we can simply be. It speaks to a longing to be known and loved before achievement, expectation, or appearance.

Whether this story is familiar to you or not, we hope each piece encourages you to slow down, reflect, and carry what matters most.

Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?”
Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” - John 1:48
